Adit vs NexHealth: 10,000 practices chose NexHealth
Adit sells phones, texts and forms as one bundle. NexHealth does the job the bundle leaves to your staff, and writes it back to your chart.
Or call 866-522-1598

A bundle of phones, texting and forms for dental offices, on one bill.
Their competition: Weave, RevenueWell and Lighthouse 360.
A patient experience platform that keeps your calendar full and your patient balances collected.
Our competition: the hours your staff spend calling to fill a last-minute cancellation, manually posting payments, and checking insurance one patient at a time.

A typical practice sees
What practices told us when they left Adit for NexHealth
Cancellations fill themselves. Not a text your staff sends.
On Adit, a lot was included and the office used little of it. Adit had something like a waitlist, but it was not the same. The waitlist, the owner said, is worth its weight in gold. Months later they came back to NexHealth.
Owner dentist, two-location dental practice

Payments post to the ledger. Texts reach the right patient.
On Adit, the practice ran payments through the bundle and the owner was not happy with it. Payments were hard to process and post back to Dentrix, and a text meant for one patient went to another. They came back to NexHealth.
Owner dentist, single-location dental practice

Forms write back to the chart. Health history too.
On Adit, health history forms never wrote back into Open Dental. Support had no fix, and $250 spent on updates changed nothing. The practice gave its 30-day notice and moved forms and texting to NexHealth.
Practice manager, single-location dental practice

A local support team.
Practices missed the NexHealth team. NexHealth support is in Draper, Utah. And the onboarding team is in San Francisco, CA.
Office manager, three-location orthodontic group

With NexHealth
NexHealth, on its own
- Waitlist that fills cancellations on its own
- Online scheduling on your website, Google Maps and invisalign.com
- Tracks which bookings came from where
With Adit
Your staff, by hand
When a patient cancels, someone at the front desk calls down the list. Adit has an ASAP list patients can join. An owner who tried it said it was not the same as a waitlist that fills the slot.
Gets patients ready before they walk in: forms done, insurance checked, card on file
With NexHealth
NexHealth, on its own
- Custom forms that sync to the patient chart
- Reads the insurance card from a photo
- Texts the patient when their insurance ID is wrong or expired
- Collects a card on file at booking or in the forms
With Adit
Your staff, by hand
Adit forms come back as a file inside Adit. Practices on Open Dental, Dentrix and Eaglesoft told us health history did not write to the chart, so staff download the form and type it in.
Collects your balances
With NexHealth
NexHealth, on its own
- Posts every payment to the ledger
- Works out the patient portion vs insurance on its own
- Text to pay, email, terminal and online portal
- Patient statements
- Surcharging
With Adit
Your staff, by hand
Adit Pay is a separate add-on on Stripe, 2.9% plus 30 cents by text. Practices told us balance reminders kept texting after the patient paid at the desk, and statements were attached by hand.
Writes it all back to your practice management system
With NexHealth
NexHealth, on its own
Every feature works with your practice management system, because the connection is ours and not a third party's.
With Adit
Your staff, by hand
Adit reads your system on a timer, 15 minutes or more on Open Dental. Practices told us bookings fell out of sync, reminders doubled up or missed patients, and forms took a day to show up.
Gets you live
With NexHealth
An onboarding manager, with you
A person in San Francisco installs the sync and sets up your reminders, forms and online booking. 7 days from signed to live.
With Adit
Your staff, with help articles
A screen share, 21 days on average by Adit's own count. One owner said her team's eyes glazed over while Adit clicked the buttons for them. Reviewers describe setups that ran two months.
Picks up when you call
With NexHealth
A person in Draper, Utah
40 seconds to reach a person by phone.

Questions practices ask us
How much does Adit cost?
Adit does not publish prices. Review sites list one plan at $399 a month, and practices told us they pay $199 to $600 a month depending on phones and add-ons. Adit Pay, insurance checks, the AI front desk and analytics are extra. Texts, emails and phone numbers have caps with per-unit overages, and practices told us about a monthly texting surcharge and features switched off until they bought another package.
Does Adit have a contract?
Adit's pricing page says No Contracts. Its terms say the agreement renews automatically for successive periods, cancelling takes 30 days' written notice, and there are no refunds for contracted services for any reason. Its gift card offers require an annual agreement. Practices told us their one-year deals auto-renewed and leaving early meant paying out the remaining months. Get the term and renewal date in writing.
What does free phones for life mean?
The phones are a sign-up promotion tied to the subscription. Adit's terms let it recover phone credits and hardware subsidies if you leave in the first year, charge another month if your numbers are not ported out inside the 30-day notice period, and require the account to be in good standing before a number can be ported. Reviewers report a $500 bill for used phones and a fee for phones returned without the box.
Do Adit forms write to my chart?
Demographics can. Health history usually does not. Practices on Open Dental, Dentrix and Eaglesoft told us the completed form comes back as a file inside Adit, and someone downloads it, saves it and types the medical history into the chart. NexHealth forms write to the chart and update the medical history on their own.
Where is Adit's support?
Adit publishes support hours of 7 AM to 7 PM Central, a ticket form and one phone number. Its about page says the team is remote from North America to India, and reviewers call the service center all overseas. Practices told us support was outsourced in 2025 and tickets went days without an answer. When the phones went down, one office ran on personal cell phones. NexHealth support is a person in Draper, Utah.
Does Adit work for medical practices?
Adit is built for dental offices and in 2025 added chiropractic, optometry and orthodontic versions. Its integration list is 20 dental, vision, chiropractic and ortho systems and names no medical EHR. Every Adit practice we have talked to is dental. NexHealth works for dental and medical practices.
Who owns Adit?
Adit is a private company in Houston, founded around 2012 by Ali Jhaver, who is still CEO. It started as a dental marketing agency with a patient booking guarantee and added software later. The legal entity on its BBB profile is Adit Advertising Inc. No outside funding, sale or acquisition appears in public databases.
Can I keep Adit's phones and use NexHealth?
Yes. Keep the phones if they work for you. Booking, reminders, forms and payments run on NexHealth and write back to your practice management system. Most practices turn off Adit's reminders the day NexHealth goes live so patients do not get two texts.
Who owns NexHealth?
Its founders, backed by Silicon Valley investors. The roadmap comes from what practices ask for, and new product updates ship most weeks: 880+ releases in the past five years.
How do I switch from Adit to NexHealth?
A NexHealth person installs the sync, sets up your reminders, forms and online booking, and walks your front desk through it. 7 days from signed to first feature live.
Does NexHealth work with my practice management system?
15 systems, dental and medical, cloud and on premise: Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Denticon, Curve, Cloud9, Dolphin, eClinicalWorks, athenahealth, NextGen, ModMed and more. The full list is at nexhealth.com/integrations.
Is NexHealth for medical practices too?
Yes. 19 specialties: dental, orthodontics, primary care, dermatology, physical therapy and more.
Adit is a bundle.
