What practices told us when they left Solutionreach for NexHealth

Cancellations fill themselves. No one calls down the list.

On Solutionreach, online booking showed times the doctor did not have, so patients booked openings that were not real and visits were missed. The sync ran slow. After a year away, the office came back to NexHealth.

Payments post to the ledger. Patient and insurance split on their own.

On Solutionreach, payments never posted to the Eaglesoft ledger, so the office reconciled every one by hand, on top of forms that did not send. When she came back to NexHealth she turned on payments with ledger sync.

Forms write back to the chart. Medical alerts too.

On Solutionreach, patients struggled to fill out forms on their phones, and for weeks completed forms came back blank. It had never been great, she said, but lately it was awful. She moved to NexHealth for forms.

Who does the job: software, or your staff

Buying a reminder system means your staff does the rest of the job, after the reminder goes out.

The job

With NexHealth

With Solutionreach

Keeps your calendar full

With NexHealth

NexHealth, on its own

  • Waitlist that fills cancellations on its own
  • Online scheduling on your website, Google Maps and invisalign.com
  • Tracks which bookings came from where

With Solutionreach

Your staff, by hand

When a patient cancels, someone at the front desk sends a batch text and calls down the list.

Gets patients ready before they walk in: forms done, insurance checked, card on file

With NexHealth

NexHealth, on its own

  • Custom forms that sync to the patient chart
  • Reads the insurance card from a photo
  • Texts the patient when their insurance ID is wrong or expired
  • Collects a card on file at booking or in the forms

With Solutionreach

Your staff, by hand

Intake forms arrive as documents. On most practice management systems the answers do not write back, so staff retype them. Insurance eligibility is dental only and sold as an add-on.

Collects your balances

With NexHealth

NexHealth, on its own

  • Posts every payment to the ledger
  • Works out the patient portion vs insurance on its own
  • Text to pay, email, terminal and online portal
  • Patient statements
  • Surcharging

With Solutionreach

Your staff, by hand

Text to pay and balance reminders go out. Posting the payment to the ledger and splitting patient from insurance is still the front desk's job.

Writes it all back to your practice management system

With NexHealth

NexHealth, on its own

Every feature works with your practice management system, because the connection is ours and not a third party's.

With Solutionreach

Your staff, by hand

Solutionreach syncs on a timer: every hour, every three hours, even every five. Patients get reminders and confirmations for appointments that were already canceled.

Gets you live

With NexHealth

An onboarding manager, with you

A person in San Francisco installs the sync and sets up your reminders, forms and online booking. 7 days from signed to live.

With Solutionreach

Your staff, with help articles

A success coach on a screen share. Setup runs under a week, depending on your practice management system. The sync is the part that stays slow after go-live.

Picks up when you call

With NexHealth

A person in Draper, Utah

40 seconds to reach a person by phone.

With Solutionreach

Your staff, left to their own

Support routes to an outsourced call center. A callback takes a day or more, and promised in-person training does not come. Sending one bulk text means a support call first.

A person in Draper picks up your call in 40 seconds. A person in San Francisco gets you live in 7 days.

Questions practices ask us

Who owns Solutionreach?

Solutionreach is a private company in Lehi, Utah. Summit Partners, a private equity firm, invested in 2012 and sits on the board. Founder Jim Higgins handed the CEO role to Ken Ernsting in August 2023 and moved to the board. That was the second CEO change in about a year.

How long is a Solutionreach contract, and how do I cancel?

Solutionreach sells yearly contracts that renew on their own unless you give 30 days' notice. The term can run longer than you think: one promo period moved a start date two months, and one contract ran 14 months. Practices that tried to leave early ran into a renewal they were never told about, a balance sent to collections, and service cut off the same day. Get your renewal date and notice window in writing.

Did Solutionreach raise prices?

Yes. One office's rate went to over $500 at renewal, then back to $299 when the office manager pushed back. Another practice's bill climbed to $621 a month for less than it had before. Practices on the same products pay anywhere from $250 to $600 a month. Solutionreach does not publish prices, so ask for your renewal rate in writing.

Does Solutionreach sync with my practice management system?

It connects to more than 400 systems, by its own count. On the systems practices moved from in 2026, the sync ran every three to four hours, so reminders went out on old data. On most systems, intake forms do not write back to the chart. NexHealth's connection is ours, not a third party's, and every feature writes back.

Can I run Solutionreach and NexHealth at the same time?

Yes, for a short while. Most practices run both for a week or two, then turn off Solutionreach reminders so patients do not get two texts. Your office texting number can move with you. Solutionreach has to release it, so start that early.

Does Solutionreach work for medical and eye care practices?

Yes. Solutionreach sells to dental, medical and eye care practices. Its insurance eligibility tool is dental only. NexHealth serves dental and medical practices, specialty clinics included.

Who owns NexHealth?

Its founders, backed by Silicon Valley investors. The roadmap comes from what practices ask for, and new product updates ship most weeks: 880+ releases in the past five years.

How do I switch from Solutionreach to NexHealth?

A NexHealth person installs the sync, sets up your reminders, forms and online booking, and walks your front desk through it. 7 days from signed to first feature live.

Does NexHealth work with my practice management system?

15 systems, dental and medical, cloud and on premise: Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Denticon, Curve, Cloud9, Dolphin, eClinicalWorks, athenahealth, NextGen, ModMed and more. The full list is at nexhealth.com/integrations.

Is NexHealth for medical practices too?

Yes. 19 specialties: dental, orthodontics, primary care, dermatology, physical therapy and more.
