Access Healthcare is a direct primary care practice.
We have a primary care office, also an urgent care and an aesthetics practice as well.

We found challenges with the eClinicalWorks platform called Healow.

With the online scheduling, we were facing a lot of issues having to manage the online appointments coming into the schedule onto a generic online booking schedule instead of a provider-specific online booking method.

And so when we switched over to NexHealth, they were able to schedule the patients directly and patients really were able to do this themselves.

The time we were spending managing provider-specific schedules coming in from the online booking platform through Healow has been reduced significantly.
Our bookings in general go up because of the NexHealth online booking feature.

For some reason, it just seems much easier than the Healow platform through eClinicalWorks we were using before. On our urgent care side, easily, we've gotten an additional 15% a day of patients easily.

The team itself is saving at least 10% of their time a day. It's remarkable not having to manage the schedule from the patients coming in online.

NexHealth has really helped with offering efficiency in our practice to our patients, also offering a level of confidence that our practice is knowledgeable about what the patient needs.

Challenge: A Scheduling System That’s Not Customizable

Access Healthcare is a direct primary care practice in Charleston, South Carolina that offers patients a superior level of service and convenience, but the team struggled with the online scheduling tool they were using.

“We found challenges with the eClinicalWorks platform called Healow with the online scheduling,” says Sam Albenberg, the owner and Director of Practice Development at Access Healthcare, “with Healow, you have to manage the online booking appointments on a generic schedule instead of a provider-specific schedule.”

Sam knew it was time to switch to a more customizable system that can streamline their online booking, forms, and other daily operations, and found NexHealth.

Solution: NexHealth’s Online Booking Just Works

With NexHealth, patient scheduling is now customizable and much easier for patients and office staff:

1) Customize the schedule to fit different needs: Access Healthcare can now customize their online booking availability based on appointment types, operating hours, and doctors’ calendars. Even with separate urgent care and aesthetics care services, the team can now simplify a complex schedule in one place.

“So the time we were spending managing provider-specific schedules coming in from the online booking platform through Healow has been reduced significantly,” says Sam.


2) Empower patients to book themselves: The team no longer has to manually manage bookings. Whether it’s day or night, patients can directly click from the website, social media channels, or a text message to directly book an appointment.



3) Booked appointments directly sync with eCW: When a patient books with Access Healthcare, the appointment is automatically inserted into eClinicalWorks, saving the team from manual entry and double bookings.

Results: 15% More Patients Booking Online Daily

Patients and front office staff find NexHealth’s Online Booking much easier and more accessible compared to their previous platform. “For some reason, it just seems much easier than the Healow platform through eClinicalWorks we were using before,” says Sam.

Since implementing NexHealth, Access Healthcare experienced a 15% increase in daily patient volume in their urgent care practice, and the team is saving at least 10% of their time a day with reduced manual work.

Looking ahead, Access Healthcare plans to further explore NexHealth's features for patient communications to support the growth of their new providers and to enhance patient experiences across their primary care, urgent care, and aesthetics practices.
