We’re excited to introduce our Summer 2024 Release: new features designed to enhance your practice’s productivity, profitability, and patient satisfaction – taking the heat off of your staff and starting your summer off with some relief.
Speed up insurance verification and patient payments
Get paid on time, without manually contacting payers or sending surprise bills to patients.
Confirm insurance eligibility in seconds with NexHealth Verification
Automated insurance verification and insurance eligibility breakdowns have been our top feature requests. And there’s no surprise - any process this manual costs your practice money and time. In a recent survey we conducted*, we found that 35% of practices spend more than an hour each day verifying insurance.
NexHealth Verification will automatically confirm a patient’s coverage is active and sync a summary of the patient's benefits to your document center — including their deductible, coverage used, and coverage remaining.
And, for those situations where patients can’t provide their insurance information ahead of time, you can collect it on-the-spot and verify on-demand in seconds.
Why this matters: Time can be better spent focusing on the patient experience instead of waiting on hold with insurance companies or sifting through outdated payer portals to verify a patient’s insurance eligibility. Insurance coverage should be regularly checked to ensure your practice gets reimbursed in a timely fashion and patients aren’t surprised by unexpected bills.
What practices say: “Patients don't keep track of out-of-pocket deductibles or specifics of their insurance. Providing patients with details on their coverage helps them understand what's covered and what's not and helps our practice avoid denied claims which can add months to our collection process.” -Maria Rogers, Manager, Pinnacle Health

Make it even easier for patients to pay with new digital statements synced from your ledger
Staff manually track patient balances, send paper statements that get lost in the mail, and make uncomfortable calls to patients who are hesitant to pay over the phone.
NexHealth Payments with Ledger Sync is now available for Open Dental, allowing practices to quickly identify patients with open balances, auto-generate digital statements from the ledger, and send them in just a couple of clicks.
These statements include a detailed breakdown of charges, including the procedures, insurance claim status, and the patient’s responsibility — so patients have the exact specifics on what they owe.
Why this matters: Almost 1-in-5 dental invoices are 90+ days past due, but NexHealth Payments with Ledger Sync can help accelerate the collections process to improve practice profitability. Easily stay on top of which patients owe a balance, send transparent payment requests that show patients their list of charges, and minimize manual work by auto-syncing completed payments directly to the ledger.

Simplify the pre-appointment experience, from intake to check-in
You never get a second chance to make a great first impression. A positive patient experience begins before the actual appointment, and we’ve simplified the process from intake to check-in.
Send the right forms to the right patients at the right time, automatically
When patients complete their forms before arriving for their appointment, providers can focus on the in-person patient experience instead of reviewing patient details during check-in. But it can be hard to ensure the right patients receive the right forms ahead of time when the information you need to collect varies so much based on procedure codes, appointment types, patient age, and more.
With NexHealth’s new Smart Forms you can set up rules that will trigger specific forms to send automatically before each appointment.
Why this matters: You’ll never have to track when a medical history update is due–you can send a form request automatically every 6 or 12 months. Or NexHealth can send the correct version of a form based on the patient’s age, so your adult patients never have to sort through pediatric fields. You can even automate consent forms based on the procedure code in the patient’s appointment. Which means you can send the right forms to the right patients at the right time – all without lifting a finger.
Smart Forms will be available later this summer.
Reduce wait times with iPad Kiosk Mode
The NexHealth iPad app now includes Kiosk Mode.
Why this matters: Patients can check themselves in for their appointments, reducing lines in the waiting room while giving front office staff time to improve the patient experience or handle critical administrative tasks such as payment collections.
What practices say: “A kiosk allows our front desk staff to spend more time delivering a great in-person patient experience and collecting revenue to keep our practice profitable.” -Eric Reed, Operations Manager, Tennessee Healthcare Partners
All NexHealth Forms customers on Dentrix, Dentrix Enterprise, Eaglesoft, and Open Dental will automatically receive Kiosk Mode. Get access right away by updating the NexHealth iPad app.
