Send messages to patients in Spanish or other languages
NexHealth offers a few options for communicating with patients who speak a language other than English. Use Appointment Journeys to send targeted Spanish-language (or other language) messages to your Spanish-speaking patients
Multilingual template translations are available for the top 10 most commonly spoken languages in the United States. See this article for instructions to activate these template translations.
Another way to achieve this is to simply edit your communication templates to include verbiage in both Spanish and English (or other target language). That way all patients can understand your message.
A more customized approach is to create a code in your EHR that indicates a patient is Spanish-speaking. Then, simply add that code to all of your Spanish-speaking patients’ appointments when they schedule.
For our Dentrix customers, here are instructions on creating a custom procedure code: https://hsione.force.com/dentrix/s/article/17531
Once appointments are coded as preferring Spanish communications, you can use the Appointment Journeys feature in NexHealth to create customized messaging for them. The sky’s the limit but might include Spanish language reminders or Spanish language Post Op instructions.
